Essential Amino Acids

by Health News

Amino Acids are the building blocks of a healthy lifestyle and the chemical base for all protein.  Protein is the biggest component of our body. Our bodies use amino acids for cell production, tissue repair and the transport of oxygen. They also form antibodies to help strengthen our immune systems.

There are about 20 types of amino acids and can be divided into 2 groups: essential and non-essential.  Essential amino acids are the ones your body can’t produce and must be replaced with the use of natural dietary supplements.

Learn about some powerful essential amino acids:

L- Lysine: Known for its antiviral properties, produces antibodies for a healthy immune system.  It is also central to the production of growth hormone.

L-Arginine: Enhances sexual performance in men including increasing sperm count; tones muscle tissue, and accelerates wound healing.

Glutamic Acid: May help increase the metabolism of sugars and fats and helps improve brain function.

Glycine: Necessary for central nervous system functions; aids in healing; helps treat stomach hyperacidity.

L- Ornithine: Works as a muscle-building hormone.

L- Taurine: Helps aid in digestion of fats and absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and to strengthen heart function .

Essential amino acids are vital to a healthy body.  As excess amino acids are not stored by the body for future use, it is important to consume a well-balanced diet on a daily basis.  To be completely protected, try a daily nutritional supplement containing all eight essential amino acids.
