Ultraviolet light from the sun produces free radicals in the body, which we know are harmful to our health. These unstable molecules can damage DNA in the cells, change the integrity of cell membranes and increase the problem of aging skin. UV rays are also responsible for causing skin cancer, melanoma and cardiovascular disease which will certainly shorten your lifespan.

Sun damaged skin is bad news, but there are still ways to enjoy life outdoors, feel good in the sunshine and limit the sun’s aging effects. The best way to avoid these harmful rays which age the skin is by using a sunscreen or covering up. Always use a sun protection cream and apply liberally and frequently for full benefit.
